This piece draws my attention to the one thing U.S. photographers can do to maximize their IP rights... register your work with the Copyright Office.

This can be done electronically for large groups of photos.

thanks for that link - I get the impression non-US citizens are unable to register their work with the US Copyright office. Although no such registration should be necessary. Sadly in this and other IP cases it's commonly reported that the party with the deepest pockets wins.

Life for creative content providers just keeps on getting more difficult e.g. the orphan works legislation being pushed around the world.
