how remove QL 1.7 top ?

I've got Rick Oleson's diagram but I don't understand how the advance lever assembly and the rewind knob are removed... :bang:

Rick says use tape to remove the fittings over the advance lever...doesn't seem to work..I don't get it.

Can somebody explain how to remove advance lever and rewind knob?

Neither seems simply to pull off...

This is a $10 QL...I'd sure like to keep it that way! Problem is, the advance keeps-on-advancing, no stopping for each frame...

...hm...easy to dismantle, easy to reassemble...got the lever working right, but of course it stopped working right when I reassembled. I'll try again.

This thing's more better built inside than I'd imagined.

I could not get mine off with tape, rubber jar opener, pliers with tape, etc. I carefully drilled 2 very small holes in it and used the spanner wrench.
