Thanks for your help in advance. I got my R3A body without manuals. Then I finished two rolls of films last week and stuffed up both films miserably not knowing how to get the films out.

I googled the thing for quite some time and cannot find much regarding the solution to this. Your help is truely appreciated!

Thanks

Do you mean you can't get the cassette out of the camera?

If that's the case you move the lever around under the rewind knob and pull the knob up as far as it will go and the cassette should just drop out! 🙂

Thanks for your fast reply!

What I meant was that I was unable to rewind the films when the films are finished in the rangefinder...

Thanks

Ahh ... there is a recessed button on the base of the camera ... press it in then rewind! 🙂

Thank you sooo much. Very glad and appreciative for your kind help. 🙂 Now I pray I am doing things right this time for developing 🙂

Yes, the little button on the bottom plate. My Bessa R has a stiff rewind - but it always rewinds. I think I read somewhere that some of the original R's had that problem. I have no idea how to cure it of doing that. My friend's R3A rewinds quite easily in comparison.

When i first got my R3A, the rewind was particularly stiff. Almost to the extent where i thought it was broken and i was going to do some damage to the film (its was really bad). But after a few rolls, its perfect and very smooth.
Still dont know why it was so bad before.

I wish I could say that for mine. I keep thinking that maybe, when I push in the release button, it only partially releases, thus causing a drag. But how could that be?

I'm confused. If you were able to shoot a second roll, how did you get the first roll out of the camera??? 😕
