How to ship darkroom enlargers?

What's the best way to ship an enlarger? split it up into individual parts or as a whole? Also what is the general cost of shipping an enlarger? What chances are there of the enlarger breaking?

I'm thinking of selling a Omega D-2v enlarger on ebay or rff, so I was curious how that would work out and if it was worth it. Shipping can really drain profits.

Shipping is based on weight and size. You are likely to have a large shipping bill since the D2 is somewhat heavy..

I'd try to sell locally...

The only practical method would be to break it down.
Baseboard, column &negative stage, light housing If it's got mixing boxes or condensers;they're separated and safely packed.

I bought a big LF Omega a few years ago. The seller broke it down in manageable pieces and I put it together when it arrived.

You have to pass the shipping cost to the buyer. If the buying has GAS for a big enlarger he'll pay the shipping cost, if the enlarger price is low.
