I found this in eBay.
Is it a macro adapter?
https://ebay.to/2CcSTyx <<<
Can it be used on both LTM and M mount cameras?
The price looks quite reasonable.
Please advise.

A NOOKY sells on ebay for less than $50.00US! A little more info: http://silfver.blogspot.com/2006/10/getting-some-nooky.html
It may be worth the price because it includes the Elmar. It will only work on an ltm body because it's designed for the separate range and view finder windows.

The SOMKY or SOOKY-M is for bayonet cameras, works with collapsible Summicron.

Hi,
It just looks like a NOOKY and it's got an Elmar fitted in it. The NOOKY fits screw threaded cameras and gives you close up's. It works with the range-finder and view-finder of the camera.
This is what they look like with the lens in the background:-
And fitted they look like this:-
BTW the NOOKY only works with an Elmar, there is a similar device for the other screw in lenses. Getting the exposure right involves bracketing or a table of adjustments.
It's a display item imo as an ext'n tube and SLR and TTL are a lot easier to use.
Regards, David

Thank you, David.
I wonder if the focusing mechanism is coupled by the adapter. Or I need to "guess" the object distance?

The rangefinder still works when using the NOOKY.

The round window on the left side of the NOOKY adapts the rangefinder for close focus.

Exactly, and you get parallax compensation. It gives you magnification from x 17.5 to x 6.3
BTW the NOOKY is for the Elmar and the NOOKY hesum is for the Hektor and Summar.
If you are really serious about these things then there are dozens, if not hundreds, of books about Leicas. Morgan and Lester's "Leica Manual" of 1935 springs to mind immediately or else the "Leica Handbook" by Fritz Vith and "The Leica Data Book" by Barleben.
Leica also published catalogues that are very helpful and both originals and the Hove reprints are available. Just search for them in the usual places.

...and SOOKY for the collapsible ltm Summicron. As David says, lots of info around. Mind you it doesn't make much sense until you put it on an ltm camera.

The Elmar, with the appropriate adapter, can still be used on an M body without the NOOKY

Do you mean it can be used on a M body as a macro lens without the NOOKY? How?

No. Without the NOOKY extension ring, it's a normal lens.

First, that has to be the cleanest Lecia II I've ever seen.
Second, as usual you are correct, working with the NOOKY attachment is a chore. It's best used in full daylight @ f/8 or f/11.

You're not wrong there. I bought one a couple of weeks ago, and it's even harder work than I anticipated. Worst aspect- the (camera) eyepiece runs out of dioptre adjustment at around 3 feet, so focussing means trying to get two blurs into coincidence.
