Of course, overall, quality seems ok, but from time to time I shoot stuff that is important to me, and I wouldn't like the kind of defect shown there to appear. (I like to add my own personal defects 😉)

Freestyle should be a fair fellow and announce this issue, right?

I also use this stuff. Every time I buy it at Freestyle I say, "This stuff is just rebranded Tri-x, right?

"We're not allowed to say" and they wink at me...

Anyway, looks like Tri-x to me. I stand develop it in Rodinal with good results. The curling negs do bother me though. I reverse roll the negs for a few hours before scanning and this helps.

There is no question that AP is in fact TX.
The question is whether it is TX that failed some QC test, or submitted to looser QC tests, and if there were a batch with significant defects as I heard again yesterday.

I've had some quality issues with some of the freestyle brands, but never this one.

I love the stuff and have shot it in a bunch of cameras. No issues so far but I've probably shot only a total of about 10 rolls so far, so small sample size I guess.

I'm loosing sleep because I'm running critically low. LOL. Time to buy another 500 rolls or do a Tom and buy 1K rolls.

I agree, I get nervous when I can see the bottom of the freezer drawers! I like the 1000 rolls buys - you don't have to worry for a while. I used to buy TriX in 1200 rolls packs (big brown boxes - 300 rolls in each) Every jacket/vest/bag had at least 10-12 rolls in it. Great "security blanket" when you went out! The big volumes hurt when you buy - hell, you could get a couple of M's for what it costs - but it is nice never having to calculate if you have enough film.

Wonderful contrast and detail. I can see why the large format guys love Pyro. I have to try it.

I need to stock up soon. Holding out to buy another 500 rolls, but I'd love to be able to get 1000. I don't shoot as much as you but the stockpile can get depleted fast. Sometimes I shoot 15 rolls in a day.

I love this film. Shoot it anywhere from 200-3200 with great results. This was shot at 1250 and stand developed in Rodinal.

I seems like Tri-X in a different box to me. I haven't experienced the curling problem that Tom A. refers to. If I'm going for the traditional Tri-X "look" I'll use HC-110. If I'm going for maximum smoothness, I'll use Xtol.

I still have about 200 rolls in the freezer and will order more as I understand from Freestyle that this is it as far as their Tri-X deal is concerned.
