How's everyone scanning their Negs/Slides?

I scan with an Imacon Flextight 343. I've been _very_ pleased with everything except the cost. It blows away both my previous Nikon SuperCoolscan and the Epson 3200.

Develop my own B&W, Neopan & Xtol in the garage sink and have transparencies done at a local lab.

I use a Scan Dual III that I picked up for $125 brand new whin the SD IV was released. For 120 I use an Epson 3170.

I use vuescan for both and find I can get it to make good scans of everything Evn the very difficult like K200. Now without vuescan I can't make scans worth a darn.
I used to dev my own B/W but small apartment + small child - chemicals= safety so now it goes to BWC, all 120 goes there too, e6 goes there , k64 to dwayne's and colour print to One local walmart I know the guy who works at. It is all processed, left uncut, and scanned ASAP.

When I came back to film, last Summer, I started having my negs scanend by local lab (1hour lab but service and quality is almost like the best pro). I get scans at 3000x2000 for 9,95$CAN within an hour if I want.

I then tried a Minolta Dual Scan IV. I had 30 days to return it if I didn't like it. Since I couldn't get better results than what my trusty lab gave me without spending a huge number of hours learning it an then just using it, I returned it.

My free time is just too precious for me to spend it scanning. I barely have time to go shoot! The lab is the best solution for me now.

I might get a scanner one day if I feel the need for it and if I can affors one that is good enough. But I might set up a B&W darkroom before that...

Airport security? US customs let me take 800 film around the x-ray machine. I brought 4, GSN, FED 2, Minolta SRT 101 and a XA2 that I kept in my pocket. On the way back in, the last security guy gave me a strange look when he saw my FED. I got a Lenin pin off EBay to decorate it.

Otherwise no trouble. The x-ray machines didn't seem to harm the film. Shot 19 rolls, I'll be scanning for a while.

This is the last image I've scanned with my Epson 4180. I did it last weekend from a 6x4.5 negative on JandC Pro-100 roll film.

That's funny Terence. I just got a 4990 and I love it. I had the 2450 before, but I could never get a really good 35mm scan from film off of it. The 4990 is worlds better, and it was less than $450 on amazon.
