How's this for plumbing?

Well......

.......I let it rip and the pump worked like a charm!! The tub filled up about 2/3 of the way and then the pump did it's thing and out went the water. I filled and emptied the tub 3 times. I was so excited.

....but then I saw an ever so tiny...drip...drip...drip at a couple of the pvs joints under the sink area. I thought how could I fix this but in the end I cut out the bottom part of the piping and started all over. Another trip to HD later and now Im waiting for the cement to cure up a while and I'll give it another go. I streamlined the pipes even more this time with less joints in the hopes there will be no drip...drip...drip!!
DAMN!!
 
Sounds to me like that Omega B-22 will soon be getting a MAJOR workout! I guess that if you're the one changing the light switch your wife was no help in building the darkroom...LOL My ex and I split up back in '91 and she still calls me to do such difficult tasks as putting a new roll of film in her Minolta X-700 (which she had when I met her in 1983) and changing the tubes in her flourescent fixtures.

hehe..thanks Al! I will enjoy it.

My wife is also a photographer and is familiar with darkrooms. But she has gone to the darkside with her wedding and portrait business and now is all digital. She's on Block Island tonight shooting a wedding. So the darkroom is all mine now. My mancave if you will.
At least your ex still shoots film.....

I also have a D2 but the bellows needs a bit of repair. I like the smallness of the B22. I really only shoot 35mm anyhoo.

oh..and the new lightswitch works! Our old house has some funky old wiring but I was able to figure it out.

Hey Al, so did you learn to scan prints yet. I see a photo on your new blog.

Looks like the dark room is comming along fine. You'll be ready for your plummers license before you know it.😉 What are your future plans for hot water? If you have gas you might consider a tankless system. A small tank would scare me because if you installed it in the room & it ruptured that wouldn't be too fun to deal with. Then there is these electric tankless waterheaters http://www.westsidewholesale.com/index.cgi?&pid=975712&CATEGORY=426&source=ad1 that look ideal but I know nothing about them.

Well, we dont have a gas line in the house. It was shut off at street level a while before we bought the house. We'd like to go back to it one day but the city of Providence charges too much for that for us right now. The washing machine line has hot and cold lines so as of now I am splitting off of those and mixing them together into one hose line. You can see the hose line in a photo on my blog.
 
Now that my boys are moved out, I am going to turn a spere bathroom into a dark room. No one hardly ever uses it. Wife has her own so I can't see a room go to the wayside. I'm looking foward to making some prints. If gas works the same with darkrooms as with cameras I'll be wanting a setup like you got.

A few pointers from a dedicated DIY'er. Prep the pipes as per the manufacturers recommendations and do not skimp on the cleaner or the solvent/glue. Don't just slop it on, but I have seen far too many otherwise beautiful home handymans' work go for naught because he/she was too thrifty with the cleaner or solvent/glue. If it doesn't squish out all around the joint, there probably wasn't enough! 🙁 Getting it right the first time is a real hair saver, trust me on that one!

Other than that, let me add my kudo's to the growing list. Excellent problem solving for someone that is obviously not a plumber.

I just fired it up again and it worked, perfectly!! I really slopped on the cement this time. No drips! I have a darkroom sink that drains!

I'll post new pics of what it looks like now, much different than my first posting.
