Hello RFF additcs out there,
I have got something to moan about again.
My HP S20 film scanner used to be able to scan slides (with dark shadows) and everything, but nowadays it's getting harder for it even to scan a BW negative.
Has anyone experienced with replacing its lamp?

I don't think it's worth the cost to have it fixed. I used an S20 for years and loved it, but it started to give red and green lines on the scans one day. At first it was only irregularly the case but it got worse and worse. I wanted to get it fixed but seeing that a Minolta DS3 was only 300 euros at that time, which is a much better scanner than the S20, I didn't even bother with getting the S20 fixed. I still have it here but I shold just bin it. You can have it if you're prepared to pay for shipping from Holland.

Hi,
Many thanks for your advice. I think I'll buy a new Epson and stow the S20 away. I need something to scan XPan frames, hence the epson, not very expensive and heard a lot of good words about it.
I'm very corious though, I might try to replace the lamp myself. I'll let you know the results.
