Well, my local store was out of D-76 and ID-11, and I needed some developer for the weekend. So T-Max it is.

Anyone have any experiences or tips on using T-Max dev. with HP5 and FP4? 1+4 versus 1+9? I shoot HP5 at either 400 or 800, and FP4 at box speed. If it helps, I usually process HP5 in D-76 or ID-11 at 1+1.

Do you prefer to mix it on demand or all at once?

Thanks

Greetings! You are a quiet one; two posts in 18 months!

With liquid developers you are usually ok to mix only as much as you need. See the Kodak tech notes at http://www.kodak.com/global/en/professional/support/techPubs/j86/j86.jhtml#006.

And I guess you are aware of the Massive Development Chart, which seems to be the standard reference for dev times? http://www.digitaltruth.com/devchart.html

I've not used T-Max, but would be interested to see the results. I've just hung up a roll of HP5, dev'd with ID-11 1+1. My standard too.

These were developed in the T-Max RT developer in a lab : great tonality, good sharpness, largish grain, first shot with the SWC/M, second with the C Sonnar wide open:

"Greetings! You are a quiet one; two posts in 18 months!" - 2 posts and two camera purchases, I hope that the relationship doesn't continue...

mfogiel - great shots, I will be very happy if I can get similar tonality to those images.

Thanks for the replies.
