Folks, there is a splendid late 1950's edition LTM 50/2.8 Elmar for sale on the Leica forum on photo.net. The seller even has the correct lens hood and lens hood cap to go with it, plus numerous Leitz 39mm filters. It won't be around long.
No connection to the seller and I already have this lens / lens hood combo. It's my favorite walking around 50, period.

Yep, that's the whole enchilada. I've never seen the cap for the 50/2.8 lens hood anywhere.
Looks like that kit may have already sold.
The nice thing about the 50/2.8 Elmar, in addition to the images it gives, is the on a III series at least, the camera feels better balanced than with the Summicron. Also, this lens and hood combo is pretty darn flare resistant and doesn't block the viewfinder on a III series. For daylight walk about photography its a great set up.
