HU: 28/2 OM Zuiko

Never know. An AIs Nikkor 35/1.4 went for $306 a few minutes ago. Could be one of the magical days when the deals are a flying. The positive side of the old Triple Witching Day on Wall Street.

Yeah, it's still at $213 with only 20 minutes left. Anything less than $300 would be an absolute steal.

A very cool lens. One of the few OM Zuikos with floating element.

Actually, there are a decent number of OM Zuikos with a floating (close up correction) element. Most, if not all, of the f2.0 series of lenses (21 f2, 24 f2, 28 f2, 50 f2 macro, 90 f2, and 100 f2) have a floating element and the 50 f3.5 macro and possibly 35 f2 have it as well.

That said, the 28 f2.0 is a terrific lens. Mine is very sharp, but has a distinctive liquid quality to its imaging. I understand that the front coating is fairly soft though, so it should be used with a filter at all times to eliminate the need for cleaning it. I also like the lens because it is the widest lens that does not overtly stretch or widen people or objects near the edges of the frame.
