No, it would not fit the 1.4, the 1.2 takes 55mm filters, the 1.4 takes 48mm filters. Aside from which, you can buy a like new S-50 hood for the 1.4 in box and case for just $85 from Kevin Li (www.kevincameras.com).

It will sell at that price. Last one I have recorded was bought by Kevin Li for $83 in 2004. (I certainly don't track all sales.) I saw one for for $57.80 in 2003, but prices on Canon accessories are up since then.
