...was talking to Arnie @ Brooklyn Camera & found out that they have a Mint Black Paint SP with a Motor Drive for sale. The SP is part of a large collection of Nikon rangefinder cameras & lens that they have been selling the last few weeks. So, if you have always wanted a motorized black paint SP here's your chance...:D:rolleyes:

I remember seeing a Black Nikon SP with motordrive being purchased by a Japanese gent at Alt Camera in Toronto back in 1991.
It was super pricey back then too.

My local Kitamura has a re-painted black SP with a modified F motor drive for about $3,000. Been there a looooong time.

I have no local Kitamura .... :bang::angel:
Maddoc, I wouldn't feel sorry for you under any circumstances :D! On all of Okinawa we have 3 Kitamura's that occasionally have something interesting, most of the time it's when I've ordered it from Net Chuko and one independent shop with bipolar prices. You have the world at your fingertips up there.

We shoulda drunk less beer with Masa and did more walking that day in Shinjuku, Nate. There was four or five more shops I was planning on taking you to.

:eek::D;) ... The situation in Okinawa might be similar to that in Sapporo. So every time I was visiting one of the "real" cities here in Japan, I always checked camera stores nearby !

Jon, Shinjuku might qualify ! :) I haven`t been to any camera shop since we went .... :eek: (except to drop off some color films and buy new films at Yodobashi ...)

Minty

Minty

These 2 lens came out of the same collection so if this is any indication of what the SP looks like...

then you should be very happy indeed.

I am however hopeful. @29,000 it would have to be VERY nice.[/quote]

I understand your point about the use of the word mint. The term is used far to often to described equipment. The price is not out of line if it is near new.
Please post photos if you can.
