HU: Hexanon 21-35 for Leica M

I also saw the comment last week speculating that for the same money you could get a 21/4 CV and a 35 Biogon and get better performance. You would still end up with two lenses to fumble with, drop, collect dust, require UV/IR filters, or bang together in a camera bag. A 21/4 CV lens is not in the same league as the 21-35 optically, and a 35 Biogon is nowhere near as well built. The 21-35 was a halo lens for a company with cash to burn, it was designed and built like one, and if you take the time to put a calibrated M8 system together, it may be the only lens you ever need.

Dante,
Do you have some photos from this lens you could post - both at 21mm and 35mm settings? I looked and looked and only found a few. Could you share some with us? Cause from what I could find so far - while it's good, I think primes like Biogon and CV 21 (I made that comment) look better (as far as I can tell from web photos).
Thanks.

If anyone is still interested in one of these lenses, I've put mine in EBay. I pretty much leave my 40/1.4 on the RD-1 all the time, and the Konica just gathered dust in my gear cabinet, despite what a nice lens it is.

I pitched all of my test pictures (from everything) last month (I was out of disk space), and although I have thousands of shots with this lens, I don't have anything that shows 21mm and 35mm on the same scene.

So I cranked out a couple of 0.8m, wide-open pictures this afternoon. No artistic merit, but I think you'll see what you want to see.

This is the middle 600x400 at 100%, ACR at default settings, saved as JPG 100. Hopefully, these will be clearer to you than the average over-sharpened web pictures.

Here are a couple of people shots.

Inside shot is 21mm at f/3.4.

Outside is at a middle aperture, likely f/5.6.
