HU: Hexanon 60mm/f1.2 LTM on eBay

yeah, I saw this one too. Was going to post a HU.

Sweet lens. Too bad I don't have any LTM cameras. That's almost sexier than the Noctilux.

Heh. This is a classic example of why it is good to be broke. No, not just broke, flat out poor... 😉

It's a pretty lens and I have no doubt it produces exquisite images. But I'm really kind of glad that I'll never have the money to find out 😀

Edit: There is a big plus for someone in that it's already out of shrinkwrap. You can actually use it w/out a lynch mob forming... 😱 Guh, I hate collectors!

I've searched the web but there's not much information out there on this lens. Does anybody have one? How good is it? It sounds like a fun lens to have especially on an R-D1 as it would give an equivant focal length of 90mm.

I have the 50/1.2, and it is an excellent lens. I would say that it might be more highly corrected than the noctilux...as the bokeh seems a bit more smooth and stark. The build quality is superb. I only wish it was black, not titanium.

Here is a sample at or near wide open:

I'll be interested to see what it goes for.

and i promised myself no more looking for lenses.....

A couple of things I wonder about: What frameline would you choose for a 60mm lens? And that focus throw, isn't that a bit short for big glass like this? The Noctilux has a pretty long focus throw to help you because perfect focus is critical.

I have no money to spend on such equipment, and I am not so sure that I would buy a 1.2 lens if I had the money. I would have considered a camera body with a built-in meter. My Canon 50/1.2 is doing an acceptable job, and living in the sunshine state allows me to use the Sunnny 16 Rule anyways. For indoors, I am adequately equipped with lenses having 2.0 max aperture. I can rest now. I have no GAS and I do not lust for the very nice looking rare lens.

This optical formula is crap, compared to what - initially - Wetzlar produced, and - then -Solms did.

No?

What's going to happen, now? Will I be stoned - under some kind of unwritten RFF Law - or am I going to be called religious names??

I think I/we will just let you argue your ridicilous pet peeves while the rest of us are out taking photographs. Cheers.

No, but you may very well be described as tedious and repetitive.

well i added to my ebay watch list if i had the spare cash i'd bid on it, i could use it for a number of situations i encounter -there again this might just be my GAS talking 😀
