You'll have to do your own search, I forgot to copy the URL and I don't dare go back. 😱

ebay seller has the following:

M5 (black) and 75mm Summilux (black) sold as a set

He had some other Leica goodies too.

My wrist just hurts looking at the M6+Noct+winder. Maybe I could get one of those wrist things bowlers use.

I agree, these should be sold separately.

This seller is not that far from me, maybe I'll go take a look in person...

ebay Rule #1: Divide and profit!

Not always. Once I sold a complete Nikon F2AS kit with 50mm lens and tons of partially sought-after accessories, like MF-3 Rewind Stop Film Back, plus motor, battery packs, several remote accessories, cables, filters and more. Listed all together, against this rule which I usually apply, too. But my instinct told me this time it could be different. Everything was in well working order, had about the same age and mileage. It was just a beautiful and well-rehearsed kit, able to awake the hunting instincts of collectors as well as shooters. Many asked me if I wouldn't split it up. I kept it together. In the last few minutes there was a rush on the auction and the final price was clearly over what could have been expected by selling in single parts (which also makes much more work in listing and shipping). Just to mention, the winner was a shooter. It was his 4th F2 he bought.

In this case though, the chances of a buyer wanting both the M5 and the Lux are slim, therefore less compitition as the price goes up. The buyer will do fine but each piece on there own is more desirable.

Certainly I would sell such items as a M6/Nocti or M5/75 'lux separately, too. But I guess the seller is a sentimental collector who finds this must stay together. I've seen the same complete collection auction coming up regularly approx. all 6 months from a seller who wants about $48k for all together (Leica M and R, Zeiss, Nikon, Rollei and other stuff). I have once made the addition of estimated prices for the single items and got something around the amount he wanted. He'll never sell it except he finds a rich newbie wannabe collector.

The items are obviously being listed by an ebay seller for a 3rd party owner. The word "rare" is thrown around too frequently. He also has an M6 with a collapsible 90mm Elmar.

So, somebody in the neighborhood had 2 M6s, an M5 and 3 nice lenses and turned them over to this seller. My guess is that they are listed exactly the way the owner delivered them. Or worse still, the seller got them cheap at an esate sale. Shame.
