on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=120159167729&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=002

Weird first bidder with "funny" Ebay feedback/info page and this statement in the item description:

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]a rare opportunity to purchase this New Black S3 limited edition the exact one used to compare the differances to the origanal olimpic S3 in the Nikon Historical society magazine no 82 the serial Number is S3 304127 on the body and No 209345 on the Nikkor lens,

I'd require local pickup - new seller, zero feedback. It could end up being a bargain because of this, though!

(I want, but can't afford. Drat.)

This is a copy ad. this camera was sold a few months ago.

DO NOT BID! You won't get a camera.

I knew something smelled...when the "bait" bidder appeared that pretty much confirmed it for me

There are many similar too good to be true deals on evilbay, you know... :D

Want a black Nikon S3 ? Bid on this one (very seriously said).

Quoted from evilbay add: "The Olympic Nikon S3 is the rare last batch on Nikon S3 cameras that Nikon released in Japan for the 1964 Olympic Games."

Arrrggghhhh these "Olympic" cameras weren't sold until late 1965. The "Olympic" myth continues ....

Hello - wanted to check in with you on your post of two weeks ago. It's back on EBay with a brand new seller account... what do you make of the original EBay posting? Thanks

Hello - thanks for your post on this. What information do you have - do you have the posting details of a few months ago? It is now (today being 27 Sept 2007) being offered again, with a brand new seller ID... this could well be a third time this is being tried...

No.
I know the seller, he sold it a few months ago. He is in Australia!!
Tha camera sold in excess of $2500...do you think the proud new owner would talke such a hit?

These are new selleres with no feedback, copying the ad in the PC and re-running it now that the original is not accessible.

I informed the first buyer of the original hoax ad and he didn't pay!! Thus the re-list with a new seller name!

After I first posted this I contacted ebay...they moved after the camera had sold

I couldn't figure out how to get the buyers contact info, glad you were able to Kiu...
