I went over to b&h. Still 50 off. Decided tp buy the 30 and give the nex5n another chance now that I fixed the annoying video button problem using the hillbilly fix. All other issues I decided I could live with.

I have the 30mm -- which I'm sure you'll love -- so I went for the 19mm with the same deal. I've been on the fence about it, but for $149.00, why not? I think the offer stands til the 27th.

Hi GaryLH,
Where can I learn more about the "hillbilly fix"?
I have both Sigma lenses and they're amazing, if a little slow to get going (linear motors in the lens, I think?). I've tried the remote control trick, which keeps the camera/lens "awake" (but drains battery) when I want a quicker response.
Something else, I find that the lenses have really good flare resistance and almost no discernible star images from the iris blades (unlike the lovely 10 point stars of my Voigtlander and Leica lenses). It's almost like they're too clean!

I have both Sigma lenses - paid full price and don't regret it. Really very hard to tell the difference between these lenses and those costing 10x more. They have some CA, easy to fix.

I used this variation of the hillbilly fix...

the other one involves finding a o-ring the right size and gluing it around the button..
Discussed at luminous landscape - called the red neck solution for nex7 but it will work for any Nex camera.
