this guy's legit and he has gone thru more cameras than I can count.. It's a bit odd because he buys new cameras the moment they come onto the market and then for some reason get sick of them quickly and they usually end up on ebay.
Can we mark this down as the world's first *used* M8? lol..

This guy is on a LOT of forums.
Pretty bizarre, his MO above is correct.
He buys all the latest expensive cameras, boasts about having them "first", seems to discover that the high end equipment doesn't magically improve his photos, then sells them the next day after snapping 4 or 5 shots.
Gets mixed up in many flame wars.
He posted a few out of focus M8 shots on dpreview forums, got criticized for them, then pulled them.
Now he's selling the camera. I'd grab it if the price ended up OK, but don't know if I'd want to have to deal through him to get warranty work done.
Strange guy. I noticed him on eBay several times.

to sell a camera within 3 business days of officially hitting the market seems rather extravagant...

I would not say so. Quite a few people have done that with the D200 and the 18-200VR lens, as well as other items that are in demand, and have actually made a profit, or at least recovered their investment. With the waiting list to get an M8, I would not be surprised if the same happens here.haagen_dazs said:to sell a camera within 3 business days of officially hitting the market seems rather extravagant...

Thanks for the HU. However, crass speculation about another member deciding to sell his equipment really is uncalled for.
Especially if it happens to be your very first post on the forum.
The 28/2.8 asph and 50 asph are very tempting. Too bad I will be out of town for the auction.

I don't think he could roll this for a profit; there seem to be a lot of new Leicas coming on line; just had a bunch at B&H.

Let's keep the discussions to photo techniques and gear and avoid discussions about people please.

Right! Just to say that this way of going about things is far more honest and decent than abusing some shop's return policy.

Ray is right, this is not photo.net. HU is appreciated, but let's let the gentleman sell his equipment without us second guessing him.
You would expect the same courtesy from fellow RFF members if you were selling.

Thanks for your kind comments, please do not bother bidding as I would rather sell to another who is not so judgemental. As others have seen in the past I have owned and sold tons of equipment, it is just not that big of a deal to me and yet other try to "read" all kinds of dark meanings in my reasons. These posts make me laugh as we ARE so different in our thinking.

Ray is right, this is not photo.net.
Leaving nasty comments on "F/S" threads is becoming a sport over there. Did you see this thread, Tom?

Kevin,
Yes I did see it and agreed with your analysis. I've pretty much given up on Pnet. I certainly hope that sort of busy-bodied behavior does not migrate from Pnet to RFF with new or newer members.
Fortunately, our moderators, Joe, Kim and Ralph are all uniformly excellent on heading these things off at the pass before escalation
RFF is distinguished by how we treat each other, with courtesy and consideration, not snide drive-by remarks.

My M5s need red dots!
Buying and selling gear isn't rare. At least, as Jaap said above, this is not a case of someone abusing the return conditions of a store.
Besides, Leicas aren't for everybody.
Next time, Greg, send me a line before offering stuff for sale!
