Regarding your question: in digital form, the media on which your images reside is irrelevant as long as the information is consistently migrated to storage formats relevant to the given timeframe.

The problem is the possibility of massive societal breakdown resulting in significant technological regression. If that happens, then we're all pretty much screwed and have a lot more to worry about than our photos.
