Hurricane Rita... left a mark

We were blessed here in Houston to not have taken a direct hit from Rita, a few limbs on the ground and power loss were all we had.

Orange Texas and other areas near the border weren't as fortunate, my wife had some family in the area (they evacuated to Houston, smartly so). Here are a few of some homes that didn't fair so well and the cleanup, notice the downed powerlinesand trees people had to work around.

BTW, in keeping true to the forum, M4-P with 40mm Rokkor and Kodak 400 Hi-Def were used.

Blessed in Houston ~ Glad you and your family are okay. My daughter I mentioned in earlier post didn't leave H-town (despite her mother's long-distance tantrums!!) but of course, like you, all are fine.

Great photos. Hope you don't have to shoot another storm for awhile, huh?

Glad you made it through the storm.

My Nephew and his family are out of New Orleans, and not going back. He was going to school, and the school is basically gone.

Glad to hear that you are well Todd. Yeah, scary to see the power lines down, but I assume that with the power out it was a good time to go out and do your "trimming".

Two years ago when the Hurricane blew through Virginia, a tree went right into the power line that feeds our house. The Splice Box that held the lines up refused to break. It's brand name was "Reliable".
