I'm planning that for the first times i'll not able to manage properly my Bessa R so i'm thinking to an hybrid system for develope and printing.

I'will develope the film than scan negatives tunr them in positive with GIMP (photoshop free clone) to select best shots to put on photo paper (chemical).

Do you think it's possible? I think it will be a cheap way to learn.

I have my negatives developed, then scan them into my computer, edit the resulting photographs with Elements 4, then print what I want. I'll be developing my own negatives again soon (after 20 years away from doing it), and each print will be minimal cost.

Best Regards!
Don

As a start you can also have the negatives scaned at your local store, save the money for the scanner and invest the money saved in some more film.

If you are planning on printing your own prints and have that set-up, it is faster to contact print a page of negatives for evaluation with a loup than it is to scan every negative.

Thank you all.
Contact print will be faster but I don't know when I can have acces to my photoclub's darkroom that I will use.
I've the negative scanner and a photographic printer.

GIMP rules! eheheh
