I guess a lot of photographers have been enjoying this advantage for a while but I had no idea and hence this post.
According to this Hyperfocus Calculator (I'm assuming this is correct) ...

... there's a definite advantage when using a cropped digital camera over a 35mm analouge (or full-frame) with the same equivalent focal length. Example:
40mm @ f/5.6 on 35mm analogue, HF at 31.2 ft. for 15.6 ft. - infinity
24mm (38.4mm) @ f/5.6 on digital with 1.6 crop, HF at 18ft. for 9 ft. - infinity
I know I've lived a protected life and this stuff is fascinating to me.
