Hyperion Camera Straps

Just picked up the two I ordered from the post office--I wasn't home yesterday to sign for them. 🙁
Really nice. Soft and supple, thick enough to work with any camera I'm ever likely to carry on a strap. Price is excellent and shipping was plenty quick.
I can definitely see a few more of these in my future!
I know I want one in a much wilder color scheme.

Consider me a happy customer.

Have ordered after seeing this thread, they look great, if attachments other than split rings were available I'd probably end up with a bunch of them.

As of today, I am much more impressed with the straps I bought from Hyperion!
Driving home from Raquette Lake and I stopped at Chittenango Falls State Park to shoot a couple of 4x5 shots. Hiked down the 150ish foot vertical difference from the parking lot and the bottom of the falls. Took my two photos and hiked (slowly! 🙂 ) back up the trail.

Set the tripod and camera bag down and my digital camera--with the grey Hyperion strap loosely wrapped around the camera--on the roof of my car while I packed the 4x5 stuff into my back seat.

And proceeded to drive south. On a twisty, up and down hill Rte. 13. 4 miles to the next town south and its single stop light. And then realized that my digital was not on the back seat where I thought I'd put it before getting back into the car.😱:bang:

Pulled through the intersection and pilled over, got out of the car and there, on the roof was my camera.:dance:😀

My car is a Mitsubishi Lancer wagon and has rails along the side of the roof but not along the back. The camera is the Fuji X20 I recently bought. And, thankfully, the road along those four miles is speed limited because of the curves and short sight lines to no more than 40 with most of it less.

And, what I think really helped is the strap added enough friction to keep the camera from sliding off.

Definitely dodged a bullet today.

Rob.

I think you dodged more than one. Lucky 🙂

"Hyperion" ...heh. it's the name of the 'evil' company from the game Borderlands. Even features a huge "H" in their logo. 🙂
