I-50 rigid relube

Hello,
I ve got my I 50 rigid apart , the front and rear elements removed and the focusing barrel. I dont see how to remove the front end to lube the aperature ring? anybody have this lens apart??

I've seen a page somewhere on the net to CLA the I50 but I can't think exactly where - doesn't Jay's site have that page?

If I find it I'll get back to you, unless someone else chips in first...
 
Good page, but he stops right where im at, doesnt take out the front of the lens to lube the aperature ring!
 
Ok, figured it out. I usded a big rubber stopper and twisted the aperature ring counter clock wise and the works screwed right out. I was looking for a grub screw that wasnt there.
 
I think the general opinion is that silicon grease tends not to creep or out gas like mineral automotive grease , though don't bypass the local car spares shop when looking for silicon grease as its used in rebuilding hydraulic brake calipers so they may just stock it .
