Well, the Groundhog's day sale is over, Phil saw his shadow, 6 more weeks of winter, and I have sold all my camera bodies (the Minolta stuff is still around but going on ebay later today).

Now what? I have been looking at these certified pre-owned Leicas (M6 TTL). They run $100-$250 more than a private sale but have been gone over by Leica USA and come with a Leica warranty. I guess they check the oil, kick the tires, that sorta thing to ensure the camera is 100% and ready to shoot. Has anyone else bought one of these cameras? My thought is that they offer the most piece of mind about getting a problem free machine.

That is a great price, but every email sent to accphoto by members of this forum have gone unanswered. I don't think they actually have the items on their web site in stock. I suspect the only things they have are listed in their ebay store.

rover I took a look at those deals when I was buying and I ended up buying from Rich Pinto for less. Mine is a former demo with one previous owner. I think it cost $1295 in 2003. Rich currentlly has a 0.85 mag M6TTL, USA demo with a 1 year warranty for $1495. I don't know what price point you're talking about or how long the Leica warranty is on the certified pre-owned bodies, but I would also look at some of the small dealers, Chatterton has an M6TTL 0.72 mag for $1295, Sam Soshan has the same body at $1349. Also, would you consider putting out a WTB thread on photo.net? Read this from a couple of days ago.

Sounds like accphoto manages to hit two of my Pet Peeves at once. Web page that is out of date AND no response to inquiries.

Yeah, I want to do business with them . . . :bang:

Thanks for the warning!/ScottGee1
