At least that is the plan because today was supposed to be the day but my back has me in knots since arriving home last night from Asheville. Excruciating pain that hopefully will subside overnight.😱

I have seven rolls of 120 film (thanks Sam and Johan and Mike!😉) and the camera is loaded up, strapped and accompanied by a light meter. Weather is supposed to be sunny, no clouds and in the 70s before lunch tomorrow. I am curious to know how badly I am going to screw this up.

The plan includes shooting the first roll around the town square. Later in the week, I will visit the local Confederate cemetery...or reverse the order. Who knows?

As long as I can move without much pain, I will finally become a "TLR Man"!😀

Great, I love a nice TLR...they go great with Fava beans 😉

Seriously though, I shot with one for many years and so much so I could hear my other cameras whining and moaning about collecting dust. They are great cameras that produce outstanding results, have fun and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing your results.

Hey Dave, glad to know you finally become a TLR man!
I have been very busy and haven't had the chance to shoot with my new 'Cord. Not even a test roll. 🙁

I think it took my 3 years to really get so I liked my 6x6 (or for that matter 35mm) B&W film: self developed. So shoot some color to perk yourself up; like every 4-5 rolls. But stick with it and you will be the best photographer in town.

What tLR did you get, Dave?

It seems that RFF is full of addiction enablers and this wound up on my doorstep one day:😀

Oh, Lord, gateway drug leading to what.....I am scared to ask.😱 But for now, I have to get at least competent with it for The Deep South project.

Done!

Just got back from the town square where the courthouse is located and shot a roll of Ilford film with the theme being the painted horses exhibit. Lots of horse statues located around the square and side streets.

Will send off to Precision Camera for processing and scanning along with a backlog of 35mm film.

We'll see.....😀

Dave,

Was this move planned or was it a result of the lovely Rollei being passed around during Saturday's lunch? 🙂

Planned? Oh, no...a couple of co-conspirators (they know who they are 😉) sent a really nice Ciro-Flex to me and I found it on my doorstep a week or so back....Shocked!😱

Michael did give me some more film and helped me understand loading the film, etc., so I decided to give it a go this morning now that I am not having to keep the kids 50 hours/week now.🙂

It was a different experience. Slower, methodical and dizzy-fying! I shot the frame I was looking for with the X1, noted the exposure and set the CF the same and shot it in black and white.

Here is the shot for the exposure data for just one of the art pieces:

I'll be interested to hear of your experiences. I have had a few chances to play with TLRs but got dizzy and then frustrated with developing and scanning.

Have you had good results from Precison? I might have to give them a try.

BTW, I haven't forgotten about coming to Atlanta. I just found out that one of my favorite preaching conferences was held in Atlanta this year! I couldn't have made it anyway; I had a trip to Africa and just recently Appalachia already this year and that has been quite enough traveling for me. Perhaps the spring. Is it nice in Atlanta in the springtime?

According to Jane Fonda, Atlanta is second only to Japan for riotous colors with rotating dogwoods, tulips, azaleas, sakura, and thousands of other native plants. The color in the Spring is actually much nicer than in the Fall!

Think "Masters Tournament" and you got it nailed.🙂

Precision is extremely good! The 26mb files are perfect for what I need when shooting 35mm TriX with the M3. It will be interesting to see how the 120 film works out.😀

Highly recommend Precision Camera!!!
