I couldn't take it any more!

Her siren song was too enticing. I first saw her sitting there in the used cabinent full of cameras at the store. I asked to see her. She looked to be a brand-new Bessa R, silver in color. Didn't look like she had had 5 rolls run through her. Her controls fell naturally to hand, it felt like I was in college again.

I had used rangefinders before now. A minolta al-s in college until it broke a second time, a contax g1 which i don't like and never use and a canonet gIII which i've been shooting with lately. I see better at 35 and 90 though, so this was a good choice and the price was right.

I have two lenses, a Canon 35mm 2.8 and a Leica Elmar 90 4.0. I brought her home and loaded up some Fuji 100. The rangefinder is ever so slightly off, but I'll fix that later.

I mostly shoot airplanes, air-to-air, but this makes it fun again. I shot some pix today, mainly of my daughter. I'll have them processed this week.

Just got back from a 2 week trip to Europe. In Florence or Rome guess what I saw on a shelf in a camera shop? A Bessa R. For a moment I wondered what it cost.

Noticed the DH24 on the mail run earlier this afternoon but had no idea it was flying in a new camera for you...heh-heh! I had a Bessa R right after they first hit these shores back in 2001. Enjoyed it, as you will yours. Keep 'em flying!

The Bessa-R is a very nice camera. An excellent path into the world of rangefinders, and the Cosina lenses for these are top notch. Plus, there is the advantage of being able to use all kinds of LTM lenses.
