i just bought the sand domke f6 that is in the rff classifieds...i like black better but i can live with sand...the rugged brown was hard on the eyes for me though...sand is good for summer shooting...

i recently gave away my safrotto copy of the domke 803...a very generous rff member loaned me a small nikon rf kit for a goodly long time and it was the least i could do to say thanks to him. it was black.

i have a near new domke af4 (black) that i may move, sell or trade it...not yet sure...i have a dna 8 that i accidentally cut some of the fabric when trying to make one pocket out of 2...the fabric is paper thin!

i have some smaller bags that i keep as they always seem to come in handy for special needs...

this has got to be the smallest bag inventory that i have had in many many years...not sure if that's a good thing but it does feel good when i get into a purge mood...

Joe, that is my favourite bag. Not that I have nearly as much experience as you ... but I aspire to at least be a member of the court if not a prince. The F6 is a very nice size - small enough to be eminently manageable, but large enough for a fair amount of gear, especially if it's RF or mirrorless goodies.

And as for sand, that's the colour I have. We should meet up. 😀

A camera bag manufacturer should really hire you to design and test bags for them, and pay you to lend your name to a line of premium bags: BackAlley Bags.

Domke F6, The little bit smaller bag 🙂, I have a black one.
I need to get a new shoulder pad though, after 4(?) odd years it's starting to crumble.
When you only have one bag that you use, signs of wear are normal.
But how would you know ?😛

That's more than an awesome idea. I'd be in line to purchase a "Joe's edition" bag. You just know it will tick all the boxes, no need to look further.

You are the king of bags.

Hahahaha wellll.....I might have him beat on Domkes: 4 F5XB's (including the White House edition), an F1, F4AF, 3 F3X's (including the White House edition), an F6, and an F2 Emerald Edition. Plus 4 more White House editions (2 laptop bags and 2 backpacks) and their small Outpack backpack.

Plus 8 Billinghams: Packington, Alice, Hadley Pro, 2 regular Hadleys (one is a rare all-leather version), 225, Panexia, and the Rucksack. Plus a couple Barbour Tarras bags which are Hadley clones and take the insert, and a leather Canon bag resembling a Billingham.

To say nothing of 3 Lowepro photo backpacks and 2 shoulder bags, plus a couple Photflex Galen Rowell bags (one of which has never been out of the wrapper).

Oh and a couple burgundy canvas Leica bags and one Nikon.

And those are just the brand-name bags 😛

Joe may be crazy, but you are certifiably insane. 😀

i bow to you sir!

Hi Folks,
I've had a Domke f6 for a couple of years. It's the bag I use most often, if my Hubba Hubba Hiney (which I carry in a soft, ancient Eddy Bauer shoulder bag) is too small.

But, I must mention that it's essential to close both outer clip fasteners on the Domke f6! I just had a lens fall out and bounce on the sidewalk because I had closed only one of those fasteners - grim, pricey, instant Karma.

Anyhoo, aside from needing a bit of idiot-proofing, the Domke f6 is just fine. By the way, I speak as the current owner of a small Tenba bag, a medium Tenba bag, a big Domke j2 bag, and a Lowepro camera back pack, as well as several briefcases and messenger bags that I sometimes set up with camera inserts. Last month, I sold a big Cine bag. So, please let me know when a 7-step program's available.

All the best,
Big Ursus
