Is there ever going to be mention of Steve McCurry without mention of the Afghan girl in any article written about him?

Seems not!

I wonder if he personally enjoys riding that particular wave?
 
He is really known for more then that photo. It's too bad that image will probably be pinned on his headstone.

It also leaves to question, since you brought it up, what iconic image does one think of when a particular photographer is mentioned? It may be a different one for each of us.
