I finally snagged one...

The SL66 is huge but so is the 330. The Hasselblad is comparable to a Rolleiflex in size. The SLR's are oriented horizontally, while the TLRs are oriented vertically. The SL66 is a very cool camera though.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to its arrival!

First look at the new camera!

Please share some shots of and with her!

Well Bill, the camera finally arrived complete with a Zeiss 80MM F2.8 Planar lens. I took it for a spin this afternoon at Valley Forge Park and shot one and 1/2 rolls of Tri-X 320 Pro, even though it's not really optimized for the outdoors. I'm still waiting for Kodak's release of Tri-X 400 in 220. Anyway, I'll post the first images as soon as I develop them. Here are some quick snaps of the new camera.

Tell me about it! G-d I hate GAS!!! Although in all honesty, I've wanted this camera for more than twenty years. That site sure promotes it! I must say though, that I've never felt so right about about a camera. I really like the way the camera demands a more thoughtful approach. It's definitely not a snapshooter which, of course, disqualifies it from certain types of photography, but it's perfect for landscape work, my real interest. I find myself spending a good deal more time walking around looking for the best shot. I'm still learning the camera and have been enjoying the lens tilt feature. I'll be developing the roll I shot in Valley Forge Park tomorrow or Tuesday, depending on a few real world issues. Anyway, thanks!

What a beautiful camera! I still remember my first encounter with the '66. I was doing a job at a military supply factory, and I needed some pictures. They sent out the plant photographer - he had that Rollei. With a 45° prism, I believe.

I loved watching him work, the camera was beautiful. That was 25 years ago, and I haven't seen another one since. HAVE FUN!
