and all is well. The sensor needed some work and my soft release needed adjustment. All the work was performed and the camera is working fine. Dave Elwell is great to communicate with and Carmen and Sarah were very helpful. Sarah followed up when I asked about the status of my M9 and phoned me back just like she said she would, twice. It seems so many companies will tell you they will phone you or email you and never do. They are nice people to work with.

They had it for 20 days. I love the turn around from CPS of Canon, which is normally 1 day but Leica doesn't have that kind of staff. I do wish Leica USA offered a pro service like Canon but they got the job done.

20 days for Leica NJ is great actually... they've had cameras of mine for 2-3 months at a time.

Yes, Carmen is easy to work with. A nice woman indeed. They currently have my MP which is due to be shipped on Oct 21. I sent it in in early September. So about 5 weeks or so. A little too long for a simple fix, but I seems that they are busy with all the M9's!;) I was informed that there is a large renovation project going on at the Repair Dept.. So that may hinder things as well.

Got a call this morning from Carmen I believe. My M7 is on it's way back after a small modification. Been in NJ for about 5 weeks. I concur about David Elwell.

Dave, Carmen and Sarah are indeed very good. I've always had good success with Leica NJ- if the occasional long wait. It seems like they've improved turnaround times a lot since the last time I had a camera there.

I just got my M9 back from having had the sensor cleaned. Took two weeks, no charge, and they paid for the return shipping.

Almost felt like telling them to upgrade it to the M9-P while they were at it ;)
