I guess Holga's are RF's too?

I was looking around the galleries recently and saw that someone had posted a photograph that was made with a Holga.
So it got me thinking that Holga's are RF's?
Am I right or what?

Nope. They're either fixed focus or scale focused.

But the Bessa L isn't an RF either and I admit that on occasion I post a pic taken with my Bessa L here 😉

holgas are about the equiv of a disposable camera w/ the exception that it has scale focusing, generally a duller lens, and more light leaks...

having that said... you'd be pretty hard pressed to find me getting rid of mine... I like it too much!

A Holga is a viewfinder, not a rangefinder. A rangefinder is exactly what it says; it is an optical or electro-optical system for determining object distance. So cameras like the Leica are a coupled rangefinder which happens to be built into the viewfinder. Some rangefinders are not even cameras.

But I think the sprit of RFF is just having fun taking pictures without the need to adhere to pedantic technical definitions.
