That damned thread about Rollei at Photokina is responsible. I looked at the pics of the latest Rolleiflex FX-N and gulped at the price but also swooned a little ... just so beautiful.

A week or so ago David Murphy advertised a 2.8D in the classifieds in very nice nick and I have to say David is everything a seller should be IMO. He is totally up front with everything he sells and if there is a problem he deals with it instantly and correctly. Who better to fuel some TLR gas? 😀

The 2.8D arrived from Pasadena yesterday and it is ****ing gorgeous! I'd be out taking pics right now except David put a roll of black and white film in it but neglected to tell me exactly what film! 😕 I'm currently waiting for his reply to my PM. 😛

When it comes to giving me my TLR fix occasionally I think my little thirty five dollar Voigtlander Brilliant may finally be out of a job!

My Yashica 124 has a bit of a hazy lens, plus, regretting selling my Autocord, has made me look for a TLR off and on for the last couple of years. No luck so far (bought and sent back 3 Rollei's so far!) so I'm glad you found a good one! Love the square!

I feel your pain. I had decided to sell my Voigtlander Superb and ran a roll to check it out and make sure it was okay before selling it. Now, I don't think I can bring myself to sell it, and I needed that money to pay for the Mamiya 645 system I just bought. But it is such a nice camera....

I had one, an Automat. But it took a header off the workbench, and caved in the front plate. After that, I didn't want to mess with it, so I traded it as a parts mule. But one of these days, I'll have another Rolleiflex of newer vintage.

Indeed, you will have to have had one. A 2.8E3 here. Not a beauty queen, but undeniably the best looking and built camera I have ever had. And the Planar on 6x6 is just heaven.

You may be hooked on your Widelux, just wait till you start shooting the D.

To hell with waiting for 'Murph' to get back to me about this film ... I just went out and shot it as 100. When I load it in the tank hopefully something on the backing paper will tell me what it is ... if I guessed wrong I'll be either pushing it or pulling it I suppose! 😛

I figured if he was going to be shooting it in Pasadena in daylight 100 would be the most likely choice ... he's a sensible guy. 😀

I need a couple of nick nacks for it ... maybe a strap, (gordy?) a bay lll hood and a lens cap. And I may lash out on a decent focusing screen ... the Beatie/Maxwell seem to be the best but they ain't cheap! 😱

I've heard you can cut an RB67 screen down to fit them?

I have a Yashica Mat-124 G, do I need a Rolleiflex? A Rolleiflex is more beautiful but I have no problems with the Yashica

Of course the Brilliant wouldn't be too lovely if there was a Zeiss tlr as well...🙄
