If you don't have time to read the manual, here is the quickest fix.

Set the camera to manual exposure.
Turn the autofocus off.
Turn the flash off.
Mount a lens.
Grab a hand held meter, or use sunny 16
Assume you've loaded E6 slide film.

You now have a classic all manual SLR.
F8 and be there!

I love shooting my high tech wonder in all manual mode. People wonder what I am doing when I focus, set aperture and shutter speed, use sunny 16 rules, but its fun :)
 
You will also find that if you do not use the camera much that you must re-read the manual.

Gee, if only they could set the manual in HTML and load it into the camera to call up onto the color monitor and use the menu selection to bring up the index for the 175 page manual. That would make it so much more fun and convenient at the same time. Raahhh. hooray...

So when are you going to get the M7?
 
at this rate pretty soon :) I will have to ebaysize the camera which shoulb be no problems and return the lens within 10 days to camera world. Its 9:00 am and foggy now and I'm heading out to snap a few pictures.
 
Looks familar. How does the detail compare to the BW one that you took a couple of weeks ago?:cool:
