I have been shooting film on my M3 & M4. I shoot B&W most of the time. Have been shooting the new Ektar 100 for color film & like the look, and was shooting Reala before. The Leica Digilux 2 will take place of some my color film., and has the manual modes & a great lens. My question is I know this is only a 5mp camera, and will take great photos. How does 5mp photos taken with the Digilux compare to the resolution on my M3 with 100asa color film? Is the digital at 5mp higher res or is the film. Sorry about this question but I have always liked the look of film & have shot digital before but never knew about the rsolution compared to film. Thank's in advance

The strictly correct answer is that a good 35mm negative, scanned at high resolution, will give you more absolute resolution than a 5 MP digital camera. The practical answer is that 5 MP is enough for most uses. The Digilux 2 is, by all accounts, an excellent machine.
