I just don't believe it!

He tried it and didn't like it..? There's one offered by CameraQuest here for exactly the same price.

In the UK it sells for a lot more new (as with most things). Robert White is charging £1,897.50, with tax, or about $3,025. So this is actually quite a bargain for us here!

happens all the time with digital cameras. people buy one just on a whim and then decide they don't really want it. Good for the person who gets a good deal.

The price converts to about two and a half grand Australian which seems ok initially considering they're $3200.00 AUD here. The problem is you'd then have to add 10% GST not to mention the cost of getting it here insured and suddenly you're only a couple of hundred dollars better off than a new one from Mainline Photo in Sydney!

I can't say I'm surprised to see one for sale already ... I'm sure there'll be a few impulse buyers who'll discover they don't really like it ... or MF!

Actually, this is what they sell for (brand new) in Hong Kong. The Fuji version is slightly cheaper.

What will really be interesting is to see how quickly it gets snapped up, so we can start to get a sense of what its used (you might even say, true) value is -- at least, here in the UK. So far it has been up almost one day with no takers.

this same seller had another auction running simultaneously where he made the same statement about opening the box, trying something once and then offering it for sale. pull up his other listings if you want to know what it was, as I can't remember what the second item was.

It's a pair of studio quality stereo microphones.

The Bessa sold for 1349 Pounds Sterling = approx USD$2145 plus P&P 35 Pds. Or AUD$2413.
