Apparently this is Chris Weeks film of choice and I have to say after managing to score a couple of expired rolls from my mate and souping them through Rodinal I am amazed. I love this stuff and Im rather annoyed that I have only just found out about it now!

Here are a few pics from the local student robot building competition

I guess I need to find an alternative...and ideas?

Christmas in July came to me a few years ago when I discovered about 20 rolls of Agfa 25, in 120 format, buried deep in our freezer. I purchased the stuff in 1988 and stuck it in our freezer and just plain forgot about it (we also moved twice back in that time era so it probably got "lost" too). I shot a test roll during this past summer and the stuff looks great. I'm going to use it during my next portrait session.

Quite a nice find, Jim! For unknown reasons I have not used Agfapan 25, but I remember being quite fond of its predecessor, Agfa Isopan FF (Agfa "IFF"), a 25-speed film that had great tonality, and almost grainless. Originally I developed in FR X-22 but later switched to Edwal FG-7 as I was using that for other films. Also, IFF came in snap-top cassettes that were handy for bulk-loading film...

Too bad, Agfapan 25 is no more. One of my favorites.

I've replaced it with Efke 25- tho it isn't quite the same. I too like the Rollei Pan 25, but it is different as well. We can hope, I've heard rumors of APX 100 & 400 returning.

I like Efke 25. Since I hear that Chris Weeks likes Agfapan 25 I will make sure to never shoot it.

Ha!
+1

But, seriously, folks....
Okay, so Andre's Efke 25 does look nice. I don't think i've ever shot anything slower than Kodachrome 64. Supposing you have enough light —*how does an ISO 25, 35mm film look in a 16x20" print compared to something like Plus-X in medium format?

My problem with all Ekfe films is that while they film is great, they are using bottom barrel canisters. I bought about 10 rolls of Efke 25 and 2 or 3 of the film canisters broke open before I even had a chance to shoot them. Two of them were broken when opening them and another broke in my bag.

When they don't break they're great:

Agfapan 25 - my all time favourite for fine grain applications:

Efke 25 - nice, but not in the same league as APX25:
