I was never a fan of Kodak's slide films, but I've been fond of Fuji's stuff for awhile, and I especially love Astia. I love the color rendering that it gives, and the fact that you're able to manipulate the color a bit through exposure.

I just recently used the 120 version for the first time, and it's fantastic! A bit of excitement on my part, but this is to be excused, as I just got the processed film back yesterday...

Those look great, I have five rolls of Astia that I will shoot soon. I'm excited about it in 120. But I wouldn't be too hard on Kodak. I've really become fond of Elitechrome. It is a inexpensive slide film, and only available in 35mm. My 120 experience with other Kodak 120 transparency films have been good too. I like to mix them up. Here is Elitechrome from earlier this year:

Thanks for the kind words, gentlemen.

I have tried Elitechrome, and wasn't very happy with the color rendition, although I love Carter's shots. I may have to give it another try. Kodak's negative film, on the other hand, is something that I've always liked. The Portra NC ( both 160 and 400 ) is also fantastic in 120.

And yes, those shots are from France.

The last time I shot color was in 2005 when for six months I shot nothing but 120 Astia at the Daytona Beach Boardwalk. Astia rendered the colors the way I wanted them. If I did another project in color, it would be in 120 Astia all over again.

And here is 35mm Astia from around 2003 or so. This was also Daytona Beach but at Black College Reunion (holdover from spring break for Negros)
