I see, that's a decent solution! I've never used the built in meter anyway, I just like the idea of having it at my disposal, mine seems to read close enough... But indeed I'm not that worried about horizontal parallax. We get used to it with built in finders anyway, and I prefer not having to squish my nose.

The cover? Just some black PLA. Threw it together with Tinkercad, some real training wheels stuff
My first print was actually just a simple square, but I didn't like the extra corner fouling on bigger lenses
So I printed it and it fitted nicely. I didn't get the nice finish that you did on the top (something to do with the raft I printed it on I think) So I re-printed it but this time I flipped teh design over and also added 'Canon' as an extra touch

Great! Yeah, I printed with no raft, just a few lines on a skirt to get the nozzle running nice and smooth. Another option printing face up would be to slice it with "ironing" enabled, if you're using cura. Gives a very nice smooth finish on the top faces.

Such clever things! Thanks for sharing. Now maybe a tweak to have the RF patch visible on the meter cover so it can be used when the meter is covered...
