I need a Rollfilm back to fit onto a Graflok 23 adapter.
Graflex quality is a bit iffy, especially as they are quite old. What other high quality 120 film backs will fit a Graflok 23 adapter plate? ( especially 6x9 format) Horseman, Linhof, etc.?

In addition to the ones you have mentioned there are Toyo, Shen Hao and Dayi. The last two are rather pricey. Mamiya has a motorized 6x8 if that's interesting. I've only tried the Horseman which is OK, but I've heard that the Linhofs are good.

The Linhof Super Rollex (56x72) is one of the best designed and constructed backs ever made. The downside is they’re expensive and older ones may need a professional cleaning and adjustment. They keep the film flat, the transport is smooth and are easy to load. The Horseman back can be found in either 6x7 or 6x9 and are well made, easy to use backs. Look for a newer one with the advance lever. Neither one is inexpensive but you will save on film and offer a good option to just using sheet film.

Unlike the 4x5 versions, which fit 4x5 Graflok backs, Linhof Super Rollex holders marketed for 2x3 cameras are NOT compatible with 2x3 Graflok backs - they use a proprietary fitting that is compatible with 2x3 Technikas and Technikardans only.

But, will the Horseman fit on the Graflok 23 adapter plate?

I use a Horseman on a Century Graphic 2x3 camera. It's a bit tight (better than a bit loose!). I'm afraid I don't know what you mean by "Graflok 23 adapter plate."

If it's a Graflok back, it should fit, barring something funny. Then the rasp comes out.

Please forget adapter plate terminology. I just need to know if the Horsemen 8 exposure 120 roll film back will fit the Graflok 23 interface and the sliding locks will lock down securely to hold the Horseman in place.

My Horseman 8-exposure (6x9) 120 roll film back fits onto my Century Graphic 2x3 camera with Graflok back. It is tight on my main camera and on one of my others (I have several) it doesn't like to lock in. Production tolerances? I don't know. The Horseman bottom plate seems a bit thicker than the original Graphic backs I have.

On my Mercury 2x3 3D printed camera it works perfectly, again with a Graflok back.

The answer is yes, probably.

Thank you very much,
Sorry to be such a pest, but if I buy one and it doesn't 't fit I didn't want to hassle the seller for a return. I'll go ahead and buy one. I have a Brooks- Veriwide and the vertical dark slide slot had to be sealed off because of light leaks which were never solved my the manufacturer. By going to a Graflok 23 type back, I'll have a functioning dark slide. The Horseman is supposed to be much better than the Singer/Graflex brand; thus my many questions.

Thanks.:D

I have a miniature Crown Graphic that I use Horseman backs on (among others.) Facing the back of camera, the ridge to the left was too high - keeping the back from fully seating. In addition, the slide locks would not lock.

Solution was to file down the ridge just enough to allow the back to fully seat.
Second was to cut notches in the slides to allow them to lock the back into place.

The Century may be different but it should be checked when your back arrives.

This has been discussed before here or elsewhere. I think it is well worth the effort.
