I can not decide which is better of these two pic.. First is full frame(it is dynamic with little crazy ponit of view) and second is first croped to 6x6 format (little more static than first). I like them both but I can not decide which will I keep...
Thanks

I think I like the first more. If the shadow in the bottom left corner and the white wall in the bottom right corner weren't there in the square version, it might be different.

combination of the Loooong Perspective
which Draws YOU In
It also makes You Appreciate the Three Shadows and their alignment
Also the Long Perspective adds a somewhat Lonely Somber Quality to the Dog and The Person

I like the portrait orientation with the large image of the Moon in the lower right corner....it makes the shot, aside the tiny person and doggie.
...that is the Moon, isn't it?

After the above comment, I don't doubt it.
I am in agreement with others on the first one being better. For me it is because of the different lines as well as the two figures; not the included moon.

first picture, the bright wall on the lower right is too bright, maybe dodge it so it's one stop darker, hurting my eyes. From Zone IX to VIII or something, whatever it is.

If I haven't seen the first one, the square composition is not bad.
But the first one definitely has more impact and higher sense of tension.

This has been an intriguing thread.
I opted for the first one, after some deliberation, and have found it very interesting that everyone so far has gone with that choice. It makes it seem as if the cropped offering is very much inferior yet I don't think it is, and from what I garner from everyone else's comments it seems like a fairly close call for them too.
Just found it interesting!

First one.
The rule of thirds puts the subjects in the top third. Second one puts the subjects into the centre.
Also, more of the cliff puts the story into context.
