I own a Leica IIIc and a Retina IIIc, what else should I get?

Are there any other cameras with the "IIIc" name?

Naming coincidences aside, what would be a good, reasonably-priced 35mm Zeiss camera to match the 1950s style and quality of the German Leica LTM and German-built Kodak Retina?

If you can live without "c" or go with another letter, I recommend Konica III or either IIIA or IIIM. Oh, I broke requirement for Zeiss and German made. Cheaply made Japanese fixed lens rangefinder - it is not.

I don't think there are any other IIIc but of course there's always the IIIC.

Personally I'd go for more lenses for the Leica, or (better still) more film. It's all too easy to end up with to many cameras that mostly do just the same. I should talk: have a IIIa Leica and a IIIA Konica and a IIA Retina and the IIA Retina sees the most use because it is smallest.

Cheers,

R.

You could get a Contax III, or a Super Ikonta III. The Super Ikonta is quite excellent.

Also, get a Bessa III.
A Kiev III.
A Zorki 3c.

Also take pictures, preferably more than three. :D

Don't forget the mighty Aires 35 IIIC.By the way this is my first post after lurking for awhile. Very impressed with the high standard of advice from members.

How about a Werra III?

Having owned both such a Werra and a Contessa 35 (and both a Contax F and a Contaflex Super), I have to conclude that while Zeiss-of-the-West had some excellent engineers, Zeiss-in-the-East kept all the smart ones. ;)

Since I have a decent examples of a great German (Leica IIIc) and a sorta-American (Retina IIIc) cameras from the same era, which cameras would be the bet compliments in Asian or Southern European cameras? The Konica sounds awfully nice, have read great reviews of them. And then, yeah I need to take a chance on a Kiev. Again. Someday.

Frank,

Get a Konica IIIM, it rocks, ask Raid.

I used mine for all of Jr. High and the first year of High School.

It will keep with the III thing you got going.

Frank,

I have a very nice Canon IIF2 kit with a Rapid Winder, original lens and case that I might consider parting from out of my personal collection? ~
Right now I would like to buy a modern digital myself (Leica D-Lux 4 maybe from a friend) so if your interested in a rare and 100% fully working classic camera from Asia, this one`s for you!!!
