I propose a new contest...

I was inspired by the "Ugly Zorki" threads on the Russian Camera forum, and I was thinking that maybe we should have a contest where the contestants try to make the ugliest possible, yet fully functioning camera.

Can we call it "Pimp My Zorki"? (egads that sounds nasty!)

That requires everyone to own a Zorki, which I think could be considered a bit unfair (I've got a FED).

But why not pimp my SUC (as per 'single use camera'). The one who makes the most convincing add on RF contraption out of carboard or styrene gets to win the prize.. (whatever that may be)..

How about we go for the ugliest FSU period. Granted I know that there are some FSUs out there that could do the job on their own, we could see how far it can go. Or how about the best pimped out FSU? Repaint, rechrome, artwork, new leather. But to make things fair there shold be a set spending limit on how much can be spent on the FSU pimping. Like no more than $50 (not including camera purchasing).

You could just make it an Ugly Rangefinder contest, period -- like the Ugly Dog contests. There could be separate categories for "pimped" and "used/worn."

Of course, "ugly" is in the eye of the beholder.
