I saved some Edwardian images today

Gorgeous work!
Sad to think that in 4-5 years, WW1 would forever destroy the life that these people had known.

That period came to be known as the "golden afternoon" before the deluge wiped out a generation.
Poignant indeed...thanks for posting and thank you for saving them.

Sorting through another job lot of glass negatives, I came across this little gem. It makes me smile. Probably taken in England, 1919-1924.

It made us smile too :)

(Ortochromatic emulsion/film + uncoated lens = A unique charm.. Hard to duplicate with our modern means.. )

BTW, I wonder if the baby is still living.
 
Wonderful shots and good of you to save them. I thought I recognised the place too and I'm glad to see I was right. The biggest changes seem to be the vegetation, little else looks different in the intervening century!
