I spent a few hours with the M8 today

Thanks for sharing. The Summicron and the subject matter work well together.

Do you find yourself mainly using the in camera bw mode rather than coverting the raw files? Just asking because i really like the tonality of the jpgs you posted.

I used the B&W directly from the M8, as Brian advised me to do, and the M8 does the rest. I used an IR cut filter on the Summicron. The files are all in jpg and not from RAW. I know that I should (maybe) have used LightRoom to convert RAW files into JPG files, but I was too lazy to do it.

Nice work Raid some of thse shots are superb. I was thinking that the M8 was old news but there is nothing wrong with those images.
Do you think it's still a good camera to buy in late 2012?

There are people who caution from buying an M8 due to the lcd lunavailability of repair. I went ahead and bought one anyways just a few months ago. I was advised to first get the M8, and then "if you like it", get the M9. I liked the M8, so I also got the M9. The M8 is an excellent camera overall.The prices are low now.

Lovely kids. Nice tones and colors. i have a Kodak digital camera and the sensor is very sharp, the colors stunning except on cloudy days or flash esp. with blacks, now magically magenta. No! i won't buy the filters, for a $5 camera.
Look forward to more images.

I have two IR cut filters, but I am using only the one for the Summicron. I have way too many lenses for which to get such a costly filter, so I don't.

Congratulations, nice pics, I like mostly nr 3 and 4!

Thank you John. They were taken at window light. The Summicron was perfect for balancing high contrast portions in the fort cells with darker shades.
