I still say the Bessa R3M is a damn nice camera

Just got back from a few weeks in the Berkshire MTS. The R3M handles well and mates so nicely to the 40mm f1.4.

Thanks guys. Shot both Tri-X and Ilford XP-2. Can remember which is which. Brought a 90mm lens, rarely used it.

Agreed! I've got an R3A and it's my favourite camera. had the R3M been out at the time I'd have got that instead if only to have the facility to still shoot without batteries.
The 40mm f1.4 is a damn fine lens, too.

Just wondering, not that my shots are so great, but could I get these interesting results in B&W with digital? I have a Nikon D200 but never used it this way.

Silver Efex is surprisingly good - I downloaded the trial and was shocked. Although it's expensice it's not as expensive as an R3

I never bought it though...

You can also do good things with LR/ACR for shaping tone curves and spectral response if you work at it for a while. Noise is easy enough to add in photoshop with some sort of graduated mask.

I don't really do that eitehr, but it's worth knowing.

I like #2 and #4. The R3M is a great camera for the 40f1.4 - though at the moment my 50 f1.1 is on it - loaded with Efke 25.

I love my R3M, and of my 3 Bessa's it is the most solidly built and has the smoothest film advance. I seem to be the only one who doesn't like the CV 40mm Nokton on it. I have the 50mm f/1.5 on it all the time and use the 40mm on my Bessa T with external viewfinder. It must be just what I'm used to. Nice photos BTW.

Akiva, please don't take this the wrong way, but I don't really care about the gear aspect, but that fourth photo is just mesmerizing. I'd be so proud if I took it :)

Not taken the wrong way. Of course it is all about the photo's. But I thought we have a tendency to focus on Leica's, ZI's (which I own, too.) etc. So I thought I would remind us all (myself include) that once again it is not the box, not even the lens, it is more about getting off my ass and shooting. Thanks to all for the feedback.
