Used some Agfa APX 100 in 120 format for the first time. I developed it in HC-110. Expiry was 2003. I often user color film with an expiry date of 2005 and only need to adjust exposure a bit there. Furthermore I have used much, much older (upwards to 20 years) B/W film that did not nearly display so much fog.

Did not try to scan yet, but the actual print on the backing paper has somehow transferred to the film, and the base is brownish/black, not clear at all. You can see through it, but it is almost like looking through a nylon pantyhose.

Tried fresh fixer, but to no avail, the problem is in the film.

Does anyone have similar experiences, most notably with Agfa APX? I have 20 rolls of the stuff in my freezer...

Sounds like the film has been rather hot for a lot of it's life. In principle, with good storage, there shouldn't be a big problem but the older a roll is then the more time there is for something unfortunate to happen to it!

Despite the 'nylon stocking' look of the negs they scan rather well. Could use a bit more development though, to bump the contrast a little bit.

Tonality of APX100 is actually a welcome surprise..
