Well, took my IIIf and my Jupiters 8 & 12 to the special media-only launch at my town's annual balloon rally. Here are some results for all y'all... They aren't the best (I was busy, get this, working 🙂... too much video editing off a D90 for one day, heh), but they show it works. (And there was much rejoicing... yaaay). The first shot is the Jupiter 8, the rest the Jupiter 12.
The scans really stink (Thank you, Walgreens... grr...), but the prints came out very, very sharp. Overall, pretty happy.
I wish I'd had something wider for in the balloon for use on the crew. I'm thinking a 21/4 Color Skopar for the IIIf eventually. This camera seems like it's begging for an ultra-wide.
The least favorite part of the whole experience was the Futura 35 finder I have, which isn't the best for glasses (I really didn't have a burning desire to drop them from 1,000 feet), but it will do for now.
The best part of the day was when I hit the Dunkin Donuts across the street, and an older British chap asked if my camera was digital. When I told him it wasn't, he wanted to see it, as he used to have the same model. I guess seeing a Leica in my neck of the woods is pretty rare. 😀
BTW, this forum is hazardous... now you guys have me looking at an Leica M for a better 35 & 50mm finder, probably a beater M5 or CL (the Rodney Dangerfields of the Leica world, it seems). Now I need to research how to cut an M adapter so the meter stalk won't hit the back of the Jupiter 🙂.
OK... back to iMovie (my company hates me, so I can't get Final Cut...).
